Welcome to Agility Photo Service. After doing dog agility videos for the last 5 years, I've decided to branch out and try my hand at Photography. I'm greatly enjoying the challenge and I hope you enjoy the results.
I started out shooting film with a Nikon FM2n film SLR camera. But after a couple trials I moved onto the convenience of digital when I picked up a Nikon D70s DLSR.
You can find the main photo gallery at: http://www.agilityphotoservice.com/gallery2
My photos from the AKC SCAT trial held in Costa Mesa, CA on August 9-10, 2008 are now online. Enjoy

The pictures are generally in the order they were taken in, which is running order. If you have a question about which dog is your's, just ask because I have the running order and can look it up in most cases.
I have uploaded Sunday Masters Standard pictures. This is my best batch to date. I'm really pleased with the picture composition. It is probably something you have never seen before. Instead of shooting straight on at eye level, I got a little higher to get a better sense of perspective. I think you really get the sense of the great height the dogs are jumping.
I also like how the picture is setup with the jump wing in the lower right corner. Then it goes diagonally up through the middle and finally in the upper left corner is the AFrame. Giving the picture a really nice 3 dimensional feel instead of being flat.
The pictures from Saturday will be up tomorrow. Click on the "photo gallery" link in the top of the window.
This is an intersting shot, not from agility view point, but just overall. The dog looks larger than life and the blurred background of the red van adds to it all.

My love affair with 35mm film was short lived. It was just too inconvenient to run to the photo lab Saturday evening. Then scan in the negatives. Not to mention expensive in the long run. But I will forever be indebted to the Nikon FM2n that I happened to run across that sparked this whole interest in photography.
So I just got a Nikon D70s DLSR and I'm incredibly happy with how sharp the pictures are. Here is a test shot from about 30 ft away of Pluto rolling around. Check the attachment for bigger version.

The pictures are up from the West Valley Dog Sports USDAA show on July 12-13, 2008. There are two albums Steeplechase and Starters/Advanced Album. I decided to do away with the watermark this week, and instead made the proofs a little smaller. So you can more clearly see your dog.
The photo of the week is Boz.

Currently the only pictures online are Steeplechase. The remaining pictures should be up by Wednesday, including Starters, Advanced, Masters, Team.
Please tell your friends who may have been at the show about their pictures, as this is all new and didn't even exist yesterday. Thank you!
